What We Offer
Services
Personalized, relationship-driven pediatric care — delivered where your family feels most at ease.
It's a question we hear often, usually from first-time callers who are just discovering our services: "Is it weird to have a doctor come to my house?"
It's an interesting modern paradox. Many of us wouldn't think twice about letting a plumber — a total stranger — into our homes to fix a leak. Yet there's a lingering hesitation about letting a licensed pediatrician, the very person we trust with our child's life, cross that same threshold.
Here is why our families quickly realize it's the best decision they've made:
- A Return to Better Medicine: This is how medicine was practiced for generations. By removing the sterile, rushed environment of a hospital, we can focus entirely on your child in the place where they are most comfortable.
- The "Germ-Free" Advantage: Your home is significantly cleaner than a physical clinic. In a traditional waiting room, your child is sharing air and surfaces with dozens of other sick patients. At home, you control the environment.
- The "Newborn" Factor: You no longer have to pack the diaper bag, fight traffic, find parking, and navigate a germ-infested waiting room with a vulnerable newborn. We come to you, keep the baby in their routine, and save you the stress.
Dr. Marie designed these services to support mothers and babies during the transitional period between birth and 12 weeks postpartum.
RS PEDS' Breastfeeding Medicine Services provide comprehensive care and support to lactating mothers and their children. As a board-certified pediatrician with advanced training and experience in breastfeeding management and lactation disorders, Dr. Marie can assist with:
- Latching difficulties
- Infant slow weight gain
- Low milk production
- Nipple pain or injury
Our services also offer education and resources to help prepare parents for breastfeeding and support them throughout their journey. Dr. Marie provides both in-person and virtual consultations.
- Audiovisual Consultations — Real-time consultations using video conferencing tools.
- Audio Only (Telephone) Consultations — Phone consultations for cases where video conferencing may not be necessary or feasible.
- Portal Interactions — Secure patient portal communication for non-urgent matters such as prescription refills or questions.
There is a moment, brief but profound, when a child's skin gives way to the careful press of a needle. A rite of passage, an adornment passed down through generations — but here, under the trained hands of Dr. Marie, it is not left to chance.
At Rising Star Pediatrics, we bring the sacred and the scientific together with SafePierce — our medical-grade ear piercing service, performed in the comfort of your home. Not in a crowded store. Not in the hurried hands of a sales associate. But where your child feels safest.
- The Blomdahl System — A technique forged in the discipline of medicine, wrapped in the sacred law of sterility. Every instrument, every earring, is sealed against contamination.
- Skin-Friendly Materials — Crafted to let air flow freely so healing is swift and sure. Posts are long enough for comfort, backs set just so, allowing the lobe to breathe.
- Nickel-Free — SafePierce uses only medical plastic earrings, completely free of nickel, eliminating the risk of developing an allergy.
Schools, workplaces, and churches are foundational spaces where health and wellness can thrive. Each plays a unique role in shaping lives — schools educate and nurture young minds, workplaces engage adults with school-age children, and churches provide spiritual and emotional support across all ages.
Dr. Marie Jean-Baptiste recognizes these environments as vital for promoting healthy behaviors, reducing risks, and fostering holistic well-being. Please contact her for more details.

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Direct Primary Care and Rising Star Pediatrics.
Direct Primary Care (DPC) is a healthcare model where patients pay a straightforward monthly membership fee in exchange for comprehensive pediatric medical care — without dealing with insurance or third-party restrictions.
We don't bill insurance for our services. Instead, we offer care through a simple membership model. That said, we do recommend that families keep some form of insurance or coverage — for things like labs, imaging, specialist visits, or emergencies.
Plans like PPOs, high-deductible insurance, or health share programs often pair well with our approach. Because we provide more accessible and personalized care, many families find they can avoid unnecessary ER visits or specialist referrals — which often means less hassle and real savings in both time and money.
Yes. While Rising Star Pediatrics covers most of your child's primary care needs, insurance is still important for emergencies, hospitalizations, and specialty care. Many families pair our DPC membership with a high-deductible health plan or a HealthShare plan to save on overall healthcare costs.
If you have Medicaid, Tricare, or a HealthShare plan, you are still welcome to join Rising Star Pediatrics. However, since we do not bill insurance, you will need to pay the membership fee out-of-pocket. Many families find that the personalized care, direct access, and extended visits with Dr. Marie make the membership well worth the investment.
Even with excellent insurance, many families experience long wait times, rushed visits, and difficulty accessing their pediatrician when they need them most. With Rising Star Pediatrics, you get:
- Direct access to Dr. Marie via phone, text, or video
- Same-day or next-day sick visits
- Longer, unrushed appointments
- Personalized guidance on parenting, nutrition, and development
For many families, the convenience and quality of DPC outweigh the limitations of traditional insurance-based, industrialized care.
- No need to pack up a sick child for a doctor's visit
- More time to discuss concerns in a relaxed environment
- Personalized newborn care without exposing your baby to a clinic setting
- Support for breastfeeding, sleep, and parenting transitions
If you value personalized, relationship-driven, and readily accessible pediatric care, DPC is an excellent choice. Families who benefit most from Rising Star Pediatrics often:
- Want a closer, more personal relationship with their pediatrician
- Prefer longer visits with a focus on prevention and education
- Appreciate same-day/next-day sick visits without waiting weeks for an appointment
- Desire direct access to their pediatrician via phone, text, or video
At Rising Star Pediatrics, we follow the CDC and AAP vaccine schedules and strongly recommend vaccinations to protect children and our community from preventable diseases. We are happy to have respectful, informed discussions with parents who have concerns, but we prioritize evidence-based medicine in our practice.
Joining is simple! Visit our website, complete the enrollment form, and choose a membership plan that fits your family's needs. After signing up, you'll receive a welcome packet and we'll schedule your child's first visit with Dr. Marie.
